What We Do...

Our Mission Statement "Removing the barriers that discourage those with mental health issues from participating in exercise whilst promoting the benefits for all of exercise on everyday mental well-being”
Running Groups

Running Groups

The groups are ran by England Athletics qualified Leaders in running fitness who have experience of dealing with mental health issues and we are all happy to run, talk, walk, chat and provide running advice to anyone that needs it.
The aim of the Team 2gether runs is not about performance but to enjoy the exercise you are doing and the company of the other members knowing that those in the group understand your situation and are there to support you.

Mental Health Signposting

Mental Health Signposting

As well as offering individuals time to talk during our coached running sessions, we are able to signpost to organisations locally should further support/counselling/therapy be required.
We have a number of organisations locally on hand to aid better mental health & we will work closely & confidentially with you to aid a speedy introduction/referral or even just a friendly introduction to services available.

Running Events

Running Events

Is there any better way to spread the message of Team 2gether and encourage other running clubs to consider similar projects than to have our members running at races across the region proudly wearing the Team 2gether shirt.
We will have limited places for some of the biggest events in the region as well as other smaller local races, and will offer free places and training for those of our members who would like to participate and fly the flag for Team 2gether

Clothes & Shoes Bank

Every new runner needs good running shoes and every runner usually already owns spare pairs that they never use or are lying unwanted in a cupboard. Rather than collecting dust why not donate them and help somebody less fortunate to make use of them?
By doing this we hope that nobody feels unable to take part in our groups or take up exercie.
If you have any donations, in reasonable condition, then please contact us to arrange collection

Group Leader Qualifications

We really want to help as many people as we possibly can. As our member numbers grow we will require additional qualified Group Leaders to ensure the quality of all of our groups.
We really would like to see existing members gain the relevant qualifications that would enable them to lead group runs, by becoming qualified group leaders. Not only would this help to sustain Team 2gether but be a wonderful example to new members of what is possible

Training Plans and Coaching

There are no expectations at Team 2gether, after all what makes you happy makes us happy. But should you like to challenge yourself further we offer full access to all of the Parkside Running & Fitness services for free.
Parkside run a variety of Group sessions six days a week, you can also have a personal training plan designed for you as well as there being opportunities to receive 1 to 1 coaching and advice.

 Why We Do It.

Why We Do It.

Everyone who has been involved in creating Team 2gether has experience of either having Mental Health issues or helping somebody who has, we are all passionate about helping breakdown the stigma that is still attached to discussing mental health. We are all aware of the positive impact that exercise can have on mental well-being and want to promote this to as wide an audience as we possibly can by creating an environment where everyone can enjoy the exercise they are doing in the company of other members knowing that those in the group understand your situation and are there to support you at all times. The concept is simple, the groups have an open door policy; regardless of your mental or physical health everyone is welcome to join. We are determined to help remove the obstacles that can often discourage people from exercising, this is why there is no costs to joining the group, or for using any of the other services on offer. Whatever it is you need to help you take part, be it company, advice, support and encouragement or even help getting running shoes, we will do all we can to help you. We have beginners groups and sessions for those who already run, so no matter how unfit you may feel you are nothing can stop you taking part. We aim to ensure that whatever your personal circumstances are we can help you get involved and adopt a healthier lifestyle. Team 2gether is not about performance but enjoyment.
